The 5.3L LS4 would be perfect for this application as far as v8 are concerned since it was design to fit into a FWD car and it's light too. But apparently a properly massaged 4.3 can do more than 250hp. They also make stroker kits for them. 301 hp at 5,500 rpm and 312 lb-ft at 4,700. http://www.hotr...

Project Apollo Archive

Take that conspiracy theorists... https://www.flickr.com/photos/projectapolloarchive/ In 2016, NASA has finally decided to fight back. More than 10.000 photos of the first Moon landing were made public, as NASA uploaded almost every image of the Apollo missions on their Flickr account. The photos a...

Wow... this forum isnt what it used to be. Imo the GM crate engine would probably be your best bet, if i had looked into one before i started rebuilding the L31 in my 99 yukon i would have went that route. Instead i rebuilt it and spent 3 months curseing the day i bought that damn truck, But then i...

IMO That's a good price for that, I wonder if you can get it made from a roller cam block? Maybe some other heads like some aftermarket Vortec heads, then you can just sell your current used Vortec 350 heads and not have to rebuild them. The OEM 060 part number heads tend to be cracked in the valve...

To rebuild an engine cost a lot, and it doesn't always go well...

I'd go with a crate 383 short block and your oem heads (for $500 more than your 350 crate)

Cool. I feel the same. Driving a Sonic hatch right now (cause one of my uncle couldn’t drive it anymore) and although it's has nice handling and is cheaper on gas, the thing is barely bigger than a shoe box. I miss my Tahoe and probably will get a newer one when this Korean goes into sonic boom.

Comp cam Beehive springs 26915 or 26918

Comp cams 787 retainers

Comp cams 648 keepers.

That combination adds 0.050" more lift over the OEM retainers and locks

So, tap your seals down and add 0.050" to watever valve travel you have now, and you'll know if you can run the LT4 cam
