No doubt about the V-band clamps, they are the only way to go no gaskets, no leaks. I am thinking about buying an 8.1 suburban but they are hard to find.

Well I pulled all the clutch packs apart they all looked fine except for the direct clutch pack and they still had lining on the clutches but you can tell they have been hot on the steels.

Get long tubes and get them to weld v band clamps instead of normal flanges, I have had them 2yrs and no leaks what so ever and no gaskets, http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-V-Band-Flange-Stainless-Clamp-Kit-Male-Female-Turbo-Exhaust-Downpipes-/131348293507?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e9...

4l80e rebuild

Well I ended up finding 2 4l80e 4x4's at the junk yard and got them both for 80$, not sure what is wrong with them but they are complete with torque converter, to go in my 98 pickup. I was wondering what tools are really necessary to rebuild these things, thanks James.

Sorry I am not on here often but yes my truck has the transmission brace and I can get them filters by it. I have actually done this to all my vortecs my 96 tahoe, 98 pickup and 98 suburban two of which are 4x4 and either of them filters will work on any of mine.

You can use either of these filters Wix 57099 or fram XG30 without removing anything that is what I used with a regular sbc oil filter adapter.

Chevy 97 wrote:The first one would be nice to have. Those are used on all the big trucks I work on. There is a gasket that goes between the two before the clamp goes on. The step clamps would be nice.
The ones I bought do not require a gasket.

Here is the link to GM's dyno results on the 383 I would say and first hand experience is it has some great low end torque. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/cr ... t-383.html

I have it in my 383 been really impressed with it and you have torque way down, I believe you have 400ft lbs at 2500rpm, it dyno'd before the marine intake at 330hp 390 at the flywheel. I have 12000 miles on it now the only problem I had as you can read in my threads is idle but it was all tuning. R...

I put turbo v-band connectors on my headers and have not had a problem with them, looks like you could cut them flanges off and weld them in the place of the existing ones.

I was raised in and around Dover and I do not believe there is a ruckman rd.

I know a guy who got 3 front unitized bearings for his explorer from Rock Auto and never got a good one they all had a drag in them and he put two of them in and they roared and he just the sent the third back on feel. He eventually went to Ford and got a decent one.

Well after wasting 2wks with the dealership they finally flashed a new PCM and that fixed the no fourth problem, I checked and tested everything else and it was fine so that was the last thing. Well I did a little work to it today I jumped the wire with no help and I checked the resistance between all the wire in the trans and I am getting 32 ohms in between Shift solenoid A(Pin A) at the connector and the TCC pwm wire to the PCM. That might be normal IDK but that was the only one that was...
