Yeah, IIRC the blender technique was advised by Rosemill so as to get the MoS suspended thoroughly in the oil. Whether or not that is really necessary, I don't know. The "shaking the bottle" approach probably works just fine.

Last year, I did the blender mix. I had to put the blender on a dimmer since it only had one speed and was way too fast.... Which made the motor smoke up! lol
I have to confirm it but I believe that was 2 onces in 1/2 liter.
I kept the first oil filter to cut it up and I'll be taking the engine out this week-end to check the damage... Wink

Looks likes this blender is going to be too fast as well, even on the lowest setting. What kind of switch did you use to slow yours down, just a standard wall dimmer switch from the hardware store? I wasn't aware those worked well on electric motors.

It's a cheap one speed, one serving smoothy mixer.

I used a conventional wall dimmer.

Not great since the motor did heat up, but it did the job very well and for a $10 blender, I didn't really care.

It was too difficult to film and pour at the same time, but I did add the moly into the vortex.

Received my order from Rosemill today. This is the 1-pound container of MoS2.
