Good electronic keyboard

Post by Pro »

Anyone into them?
I used to have a nice yamaha. Lost it.
The thing felt like a real piano.
Curious if anyone knew of any nice ones these days. I want to get back into it.

Check out Edirol. Edirol was created as a child company for Roland some 10 years ago to sell consumer-level products under a different name that more easily distinguished them from the high-end professional Roland stuff.

I have a PC-200mkII velocity-sensitive non-weighted MIDI keyboard with a pedal. It's connected to an SC-55mkII Sound Canvas GS synthesizer.

It's old stuff but plenty fun to tinker with.

Even Edirol's lowest end is still high-quality compared to what you'd find on a shelf any place but a music store.

This is close to you, it's cheap, and it's interesting home decor too. You could start some revival group meetings at your house!

That looks exactly like the one in my living room. Hopefully, it sells for a ton of money so I can convince my wife to sell it.

I'm thinking of getting the wife one of these for her birthday. We've got an old 1970s console type with a bad hum (which I'd be happy to give to a good home, come get it or pay for shipping) that she wants to keep, and I'm making her get rid of it because it's bit and will cost a lot to fix. Anyway, we listened to one at the local piano shop, it'll play several different instruments and sounds exactly (to my weak ears) like the actual instrument it's simulating.
