I have been working on perfecting this with a 2002 6.0L/4l80e 4x4 truck with os 12212156 and swapping this trans cal ID#9358280 segment to a express van tune(replacing ID# 9358344)with the same os 12212156... I gave it one shot(since I haven't done a segment swap before) but it did not shift like a factory one should.
Any thoughts?

I don't own a 4x4 truck. The 4x4 shifting deal is deep in the code of the tune. The 4l60 4x4 tuning has been figured out and working for quite a while now. To my knowledge the 4l80 4x4 shifting has not.
PS To anyone reading this and not familiar with the 4x4 subject. With the 12200411 PCM swap---The 4l60e trans will upshift properly when in 4 wheel drive mode. The 4l80e trans will not upshift properly when in 4 wheel drive mode. I doubt that will ever be sorted out, unless someone who is knowledgeable and interested will dig deep into the code and figure something out. I am NOT that guy! I'm barely smart enough to type this reply.

I finally got my truck figured out. After 6 HPtuners credits and some headache I have been able to finish the swap and drive the truck. So far the tuning portion has been rather easy since the truck is mostly stock. I am amazed at the idle quality and responsiveness of the truck now. I want to say thanks to Jeff for the help throughout the swap.

I will shift properly in regular 4 HI but for some reason it does not take in account the 4LOW input and change the shifting tables by a certain ratio for 4-LOW

I'll get serious about sorting the 4low when I do the 383 install.
I'll get a friend (Mick) to look into the code a bit deeper and we should be able to get it sorted.

I don't understand the 4x4 issue, I don't see anything pertaining to 4x4 in the tune on anything from the 411 on up.
My black box had separate tables for being in 4 wheel drive.

There are seperate tables for 4x4 as well as platform selection and a few others.
I just need to get time to go through them and pick out what's needed and then get them added probably via .CAX file.

Well my friend has a 2003 1500HD with a 6.0L LQ4, a 4L80E and I know for sure it's a 4x4.
I know it's the next newer PCM than the 411 but the tune shows nothing about 4x4 and it is bone stock.

So with a 411 tune and 4l80e swap:
2wd upshifts are fine
4wd upshifts are fine
4lo upshifts are non-existant?
What happens if you place the gear selector in 2nd gear?
Does anyone have a trans go shift-kit installed in their 80e?
In Jet and Tunercat2 I dont see any different tables for 4l80e equipped 4wd trucks except for Abuse Mode enable and disable rpm selection for 2wd, 4hi and 4 lo.
The 411 2002 van tunes use the same O/S as the Camaros do 12212156 , perhaps the option for different shifting/based on a secondary ratio isnt included in the code?
There was never a Camaro with a transfer case, same goes for the 02 411 vans, even though there is a 411/L31 4l80e calibration. I have one for a 2001 L31 van/80e.
Interesting...........................
peace

Yes It will "upshift" but you have to rev it to about 5 grand and then feather the throttle and then it will upshift....
Here is a video I took a while back same video 2 diff links... maybe one will work

Nope, But that seems like a great idea.... That tune was set to 5k at those settings, I will see if this works in a few days.
Thanks for the idea! I didn't know that setting was there honestly until now

I believe we've tried that...and it didn't help. But try it again just incase.

Stroked_Blown_91,
That looks like it will be a lot of fun when it is finished.

Whats different about the 96-97 and 98-00 wiring harnesses. I have a 96 but am thinking about getting a 98 harness and using the diagram I got for Lex a while back, to make a harness to swap in a 5.3. I want to know if the 98 harness will plug into my truck and run. I have an 0411 computer already, but it is not in the truck yet. Waiting to do the hole swap.

The PCM pinouts are a little different (Most wires are the same). I don't know about the bulkhead connector.
