Post Radar Detector
I went to Denver last week to see my son, and while up there my radar detector failed. Had to pick up a new one. I went with an Escort Max 360 this time, because it is supposed to have a new signal processor that minimizes false alarms. So far so good. It still picks up the occasional false alarm, but I no longer pick up every single Audi, Kia or Suburban anymore. If it does pick one up, it's pretty close to the car instead of a mile away like with the Bel. Also, it is upgradable so if a new radar system comes out that produces false alarms the programming can be updated to deal with it. There are negatives to it. It's friggin HUGE, more than twice as large and heavy as the Bel it replaced. It's like a detector from 1980. The windshield mount is some gigantic single suction cup with that feels sticky but doesn't leave residue behind. This puts a large blind spot on the windshield. Then there was the 700 bucks it cost. I HAD to buy it then, since I was in the middle of a trip, but even Amazon isn't very much better on price.

Normally I'd do a built-in, but I'm not 100 percent on this Charger yet. Plus, no garage to work in. Even with a built-in it's good to have a spare window unit around for rental cars and whatnot.

good buy. Escort or Valentine are the two best I've seen. I had an escort model back in the 80's and it worked great. got stolen though.....
