Post 2006 Tundra Master Cylinder
Working on my dad's 2006 Toyota Tundra, SR5 with Stability Control or VSC. The master cylinder is leaking into the booster and has fried it. The only way we can get a new master cylinder is to buy this kit from Toyota for ~$1200.00

Yes, that was not a typo. One thousand two hundred dollars for a master cylinder. They do not offer a rebuild kit either.

Anyone know where/who I can send this to for rebuilding? $1200 is just not an option right now and pops needs his truck. I've been searching and searching and can't seem to find really anyone who has experienced problems with these particular master cylinders. I've concluded that either they never fail or everyone who purchased this particular model just shells out the cash for the Toyota part.

None of the master cylinders available on any parts websites match what I need.

Those guys are seeing if they can rebuild it for me. They are willing to piece a rebuild kit together for it. Tim indicated as long as the piston does not show any signs of pitting they can rebuild it. Fingers crossed!
