I didn't mind the GM radio but now things are getting interesting.
Using ur cell as a hotspot works but if u need a more permanent install, cell providers have USB Internet dongles.

The biggest problem I face is figuring out how my cell provider handles it. I have a sprint galaxy4 and its got a hot spot function but its not free to use. More research is needed here but Im bout ready to pull the trigger
Guess I should read links before posting. looks like I can tether no problem.
Now to decide witch one to buy. The thing that bothers me is I really see no name brands on any of them. hmm

SME YouTube link twice. I see the Jamaica dude before. I'll keep researching. I keep finding them cheaper and cheaper. I'm also reading different stuff on weather sprint let's me tether or not. Looks like I can either root my phone or get an app that bypasses the factory locks altogether. I'm still finding infonthats making me hesitate

That's just nuts. What do they care what device accesses the internet?Whipped383 wrote:I'm also reading different stuff on weather sprint let's me tether or not. You're paying for data transfer.
I regularly use my phone to access the internet with my laptop.

I've been rooting android phones for years. Warranties have always been honored too. I've never had any problems with it. Custom Roms are available through the XDA forums. My advice is read, read, read. Android is incredibly flexible and customizable and there are a plethora of different Roms available. With T-Mobile my tethering is limited to 250mb with a stock ROM. With custom Roms it's unlimited. You also can get rid of all the bloatware and background data tracking apps. It's your phone and you have the ability to use it as you please.

They care because it's a feature they can bill you for. Now your computer can access the internet... WITH YOUR PHONE! JUST 99.99 a minute!CrazyHoe wrote:That's just nuts. The phone rooting is sounding like a good thing more and more. One thing that bothers me is all the bloat crap, be it on my PC or mobile device. Im not to savvy to figure that king of stuff out but android seems much easier to do stuff like that. There are forums loaded with this info, finding the time to read it is tough

I pay something like $25 extra and I have 6G. Phone is not rooted and I can do as I please with those 6G
At work a guy has unlimited for less than $100/month and we can tether off him!
The hotspot range is pretty impressive too. 100 ft in a shop full of machines.

They work with the steering buttons so, there could be a prob.
But, there's different models with same look:

Another option is freedom pop hotspot if you just want to quickly check your email or such on the road. Personally, I hate limits and making use of Comcast right now, but will drop them like a hot tin pan if they start with limits. I have no contract and detest contracts too. My cell provider keeps sending me hints to upgrade my unlimited plan. Nope. I'll probably sand down the sim card to continue using it in a new phone if I can find one black friday.
In my previous job, I had a 4g hotspot that worked quite well. New job gave me only a 3g hotspot and it is sloooooooow, but it works in a pinch.
Speakers in my truck need replacing again. Probably upgrade the whole system since I'll be keeping the truck for a while.
