My front timing cover was leaking out the crank seal so yesterday I bought another Doorman cover, and it leaks also. I measured my balancer to make sure it was the right diameter and it was, but it was a lot of work to drop the oil pan and pull the water pump and drain the water, so I had three old covers sitting around so I decided to try to pull the seal without damaging the cover or the seal and amazingly they come out fairly easy and two of them had 200,000 mile on them. I just ordered a gm cover from summit so I am going to try to pull the old seal out and the new seal and put it in my existing cover I measured the doorman and the gm covers OD and there really wasn't enough difference to be concerned about. What do you guys think, I mean the cover was 24$ if it don't work I am not out that much but if it does I just saved a lot of time and maybe causing another leak.
