Update...production has come to a halt
Engine decided to take a fall...I ordered a new crank pulley
I also ordered all of the LS9 cam stuff about a week and a half ago from GMPP.com. usually they are quick to send stuff out and i have received nothing. I did shoot them an e-mail two days ago and yet no return...
I guess we move forward.
What is the PART# for OEM L92 Rockers, guideplates, and the studs to hold them down?
Also need to order a LOKAR Flexible OIL Dip stick...I looked on summit and there are a few choices...which one is best for the LS into GMT400 engine?
These necessary...I think I found the right one's...only $100 more?
http://sdparts.com/details/yella-terra/yt6667
Onto the transmission...I think a Trans-go HD-2 Shift Kit as well as a stock filter and gasket will suffice. I don't think it is necessary for a deeper pan b/c I am adding a Tru-cool HD Transmission cooler. Unless you guys think it is necessary of course I will add a deeper pan. I really don't plan on ever hot lapping this thing. Just for fun. I do want to enter a road race though Ex: Targa Trasmania

You can go to rockauto.com and look up the car that the engine came in, and you may be able to get the GM part number there. They may sell Delphi/AC Delco units too, which would be the factory piece.

The Buyer that I purchased the heads from got in touch with me...
heads setup:
The heads are a stock CNC'd LS3 head, they have not been milled or decked. The chambers are stock cc size, 70cc. If you're using the LS7 lifters, then the 7.4 pushrods will work.
PRC LS3 and L92 CNC Ported Heads
Rocker setup:
12569167 - intake rocker - 8 needed (L92 or LS3)
10214664 - Exhaust rocker - 8 needed (ls1, LS2, 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0)
12600936 - L92 rocker stands 2 needed
This is the trunion upgrade, or bearing upgrade. Since you're not running a huge cam with a big duration . . . it's not needed.
COMP Cams LS Heavy Duty Rocker Arm Bearing Assemblies - Set of 16 - Lingenfelter Performance
....
I ordered everything except the push rods...I know I have to go hardened...I was on Summit they have a few options with ball tips...etc etc. Brand is edelbrock...what you guys prefer?

From Rockauto:
For a 2000 2500 silverado w/6.0L:
Knock Sensors - ACDelco 213-3521 (need 2) --> (GM# 12589867)
Knock Sensor Harness - GM# 12601822
Oil Pressure Switch - For the oil pressure switch you can reuse the sensor from your 1999 tahoe and use this adapter to make it work -> Autometer 2268 <-. This will allow your stock oil gauge to work properly. The 2000 Silverado oil presure sensor might work fine with your oil gauge but not 100% sure.
Don't know if they are the same for the L92 heads but for the cathedral heads the part numbers are: (used http://parts.nalleygmc.com for gm part numbers)
12605716 - 2008 Silverado 4.8L front steam vent pipe (I will be running a 2008 silverado intake so I figured I'd run the crossover too). It just has the steam line output in a nicer location.
12602540 - Steam vent block offs (need 2)
12551933 - gaskets for steam vents on heads (need 4) <-- I haven't figured out if these are 100% needed since the blocks and the crossover have integrated o-rings.

Sorry about the long response and thanks for your quick response!
Orignal Oil Pressure Switch is gone with the old motor. I don't recall reading write-ups using the old one. But if I do have problems I know where to start!
The coolant by pass hose makes me nervous. they are nothing like the one's I removed my the original heads are different then the new ones. I still have the original bypass, so I might just install to see if the fitment is right so I know what to order!
thanks XOXOXOXOXOXOX
also ordered some Lokar dip sticks

The LS9 camshaft is a 3 bolt design and will use the Lingenfelter 3 bolt cam conversion kit if you are installing it in a single bolt application like the 2007 – 2010 LS2 or LS3. If you are installing it in an earlier LS1 or LS6 engine with the cam sensor at the back of the engine you will need a 2005 LS2 front cover, 2005 1x cam sprocket, camshaft extension harness, 2005 LS2 chain dampner.
You won't need the chain dampener because your block wont have the bolt holes for it and you can just extend the cam sensor harness yourself easily.
GmPartsDirect Pricing and Part numbers:
LS9 Cam - 12638427 - $97.93
LS2 Timing Cover Kit (includes cover, sensor, bolts, gaskets, etc) - PK12600325 - $123.60
LS2 3 bolt 4x cam sprocket - 12586481 - $14.62
Shipping: (expensive) $60.22
Total: $296.37
For $400 you can get a custom cam spec'd to your setup. I think there is a guy on PT.net (patrick G something) that specs cam for $25. A lot of people use him and then send the specs to anyone of the many sponsors that do custom cams.
http://guerragroup.com/camshaft_help.htm
I got problems...I ordered the complete kit
I got the CAM sensor Part number 12596851
The cam sensor feels loose when I put in into the front of the timing cover(shouldnt it be a snug with out tightening it down?). I went over to GM dealership with the VIN from 2011 ZR1 with and LS9 for a cam sensor (part number 1259685) they looked completely different. Once I bought it $68 it was mine to keep not even return for store credit) so I held off. The kit. SO I NEED THE CORRECT part number for the CAM sensor that will work with the kit. I will attempt to contact GMPARTSdirect.com (only thru e-mail) about my situation. ANY help would be awesome!
ALSO have a CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR part# 10485432 that just does not work at all. What is the correct one?
Just pissed money out the door. I ordered a decent amount of parts at one time kinda of lost track.
One more rant TSP "DELUXE Engine Gasket Kit" DOES NOT INCLUDE: Oil Pan Gakset, Rear Main Seal (GM Part Number 12633578), & Rear Main seal Gasket (GM Part Number 89060436). If your building an engine shouldn't this be mandatory?
Pics none the less...
Progress...none the less...Oil Pan Gasket is one, ls9 cam is in, timing chain, sprocket in, oil pump, rear main seal, and gasket...cleaned the oil pan and tube out.
I tried questioning the parts guy at GM who was really helpful gave me GMS (special silicone for the oil pan for free). Honestly at the point where I just want it done. He says not something he is to familiar about.

Looking good!
That gold reminds me of an Olds Rocket 330 I rebuilt in high school. Kind of dates me a little doesn't it. The motor was a 65 and it was 11 years old when I rebuilt it and put it in my cutlass. Just saying.

Pink only goes for one very important cause. The fight against Breast Cancer. My color would be purple for to find a cure for Crohns & Colitis since I have crohns. The engine looks good. Once you get it in the truck and running. You will be Happy.

Cut and paste
So whats all this Gen III or Gen IV stuff?
Well its pretty simple. The first V8 GM made, the 265, was the first generation of V8's or Gen I. The motors are long lived and lasted in trucks to 2000 with the Vortec 350 5.7L( into 02/03 in vans and into 2012 in marine/industrial apps). The second generation was the Gen II or LT1 and LT4. Same basic design of the Gen I but had a front mount dizz and cam driven water pump among others.
So that leads up to 1997 and the introduction of the third generation of V8's or Gen III. The totally new designed LS1 5.7L! It lasted from 1997-2007.
The Gen III production run wasn't as long as the Gen I but has seen millions of motors produced. Mainly the workhorse LM7 5.3L and variants. Most swap motors used are Gen III but as production and time tells. Alot more Gen IV's are making it into swaps. And as the Gen IV get cheaper more and more will be available to everyone. The Gen IV motors started with the LS2 in 2005 and the LH6 5.3L in the Trailblazers it had AFM. The Gen IV trickled into the GM line up first appearing in the Trucks in 2007 GMT-900 platform With the LC9 5.3L, L76 6.0L, LY6 6.0L, and L92 6.2L.
Rumor's abound about the fifth generation or Gen V V8's. These include direct injection, and even OHC's. Only time will tell! The Gen III/IV cylinder block shares two key design elements with GM's original small block V-8: a 90-degree cylinder angle with 4.4 inch bore centers. Beyond that, the latest small block applies design, casting and machining technologies that were unfathomable in the 1950s.So whats the difference between the Gen III and Gen IV?
And why aren't they the same?
They look the same right?
Well yes and no.
The Gen IV was different enough for GM to make it its own generation. GM need to redesign the block and move sensor around to support several new technologies.
The Gen IV differences vs Gen III
•58x relutor wheel (crank trigger)
•Front mounted 4x Cam sensor (mounted on timing cover)
•VVT (variable Valve Timing) Oil operated cam phaser on front of cam sprocket
•AFM (Active Fuel Management) Deactivates 4 cly to improve MPG
•Side of block mounted Knock sensors
•Enhanced ECM's with separate TCM for the transmission.
•Returnless Fuel Injection with Stainless Steel Fuel Rail
•Advanced DBW with no TAC box needed
Gen IV Cylinder Block
The Gen IV block debuted in 2005 as the foundation for the 400-hp LS2 V-8 in the Chevrolet Corvette, and Pontiac GTO and the Cadillac CTS-v in 2006. Its deep-skirt design helps maximize strength and minimize vibration. The bulkheads accommodate six-bolt, cross-bolted main-bearing caps that limit crank flex and stiffen the engine's structure. A structural oil pan further stiffens the powertrain. The Gen IV aluminum block is cast from A356-T6 alloy, with cast-in iron cylinder liners. It weighs roughly 100 lbs. less than a comparable cast-iron engine block.
The new-generation small block is cast with oil ports in its V, or valley, to accommodate advanced technologies in the Vortec 5.3L and 6.0L L76, including Active Fuel Management (AFM) cylinder deactivation. The Lifter Oil Manifold Assembly (LOMA), a key component of AFM, installs in the valley in place of a conventional engine block cover. As a result, knock sensors located in the valley on the Gen III V-8 have been moved to the outside of the engine block, while the cam sensor has been moved from the rear of the block to the front cover.
#2 is knock sensor one on each side
Front timing cover with Cam sensor p/n
12600325
This is the kit that Lingenfelter sells to instal an LS9 cam into a L92 engine
Lingenfelter sells a whole swap kit, meaning LS9 cam and VVT delete kit, but it's not nessary. All of the parts are GM dealer parts.
Blue LS6 springs
LS9 Cam
3 bolt 4x trigger cam gear
3 bolts for the cam (same as the cover bolts)
LS2 timing cover
LS2 crank seal
LS2/LS3/LS7/L92/L76 timing chain dampener (wedge block style 12588670)
6qts of oil
oil filter
2 gallons of Dex-Cool antifreeze
Everything else is reused. . . .
peace

After doing some more research I found some info that might help.
You are running a 24x reluctor wheel correct (this is what comes with your 2000 LQ4)?
I believe if you are running 24x then you will need a 3 bolt 1x cam sprocket (from a 2005 LS2 Corvette or a 2005-2006 LS2 GTO, SSR or Trailblazer engine) to use with the LS9 cam. --> 1x LS2 cam sprocket part# 12576407
^ Double check this info but I think that's what you will need. The 4x sprocket is for the 58x systems.
http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=12576407&Category_Code=C38&Store_Code=LPE
I believe the timing cover you have will be fine. You will need to use a cam sensor from a 2005 LS2 which ran 24x. Not sure which one that is.

http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/866338-ls1-ls2-swap.html
I not 100% sure on everything. Just basing what I can research from other forums.

What sensor came with the LS2 timing cover kit? Was it tan/beige? Supposedly part number 12591720 is suppose to come with the kit, but gm updates part numbers all the time.
I've read that the tan/beige one that comes with the kit works fine with the 1x cam gear and 24x systems.
Some info:
http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/1282901-ls2-ls3-front-cover-part-number-changed.html
http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iv-internal-engine/1163134-12591720-tan-cam-sensor-compatible-ls1-pcm.html
Also you will have to extend the cam sensor harness or buy a conversion harness from racetronix.
