I have been trying to do research on LS9 Cam...I am covered spring wise...but will stock rockers suffice? Guide plates won't effect anything? I have found ls9 cam swaps in newer trucks (6.2 aand in gmt900's Nothing anywhere near to the type of motor I have
UPDATE...NOT SWAPPING IN A LS9 CAM
After a search on google...it lead me to thread that PT.net search over looked.
I or anyone else will need
LS9 Cam
1 Bolt Cam Sprocket
New Front timing cover with cam sensor in front
Cam Extension Harness
Cam Dampner
ZR1 Springs (I wouldn't need them b/c I have upgraded mine, put it in there for FYI)
Going to pass since I spent the last two days cleaning, stripping, and painting (Four Coats out of .
Guess the GT2 Cam is up my alley

Taken from Lingenfelter's Website:
The LS9 camshaft is a 3 bolt design and will use the Lingenfelter 3 bolt cam conversion kit if you are installing it in a single bolt application like the 2007 – 2010 LS2 or LS3. If you are installing it in an earlier LS1 or LS6 engine with the cam sensor at the back of the engine you will need a 2005 LS2 front cover, 2005 1x cam sprocket, camshaft extension harness, 2005 LS2 chain dampner.
You won't need the chain dampener because your block wont have the bolt holes for it and you can just extend the cam sensor harness yourself easily.
GmPartsDirect Pricing and Part numbers:
LS9 Cam - 12638427 - $97.93
LS2 Timing Cover Kit (includes cover, sensor, bolts, gaskets, etc) - PK12600325 - $123.60
LS2 3 bolt 4x cam sprocket - 12586481 - $14.62
Shipping: (expensive) $60.22
Total: $296.37
For $400 you can get a custom cam spec'd to your setup. I think there is a guy on PT.net (patrick G something) that specs cam for $25. A lot of people use him and then send the specs to anyone of the many sponsors that do custom cams.

I would love a custom ground cam, but not sure of forced induction set-up I am using.
Look into how easy the gt2 cam is. Will stock pushrods and rockers work?

Stock L92 rocker should be fine for your setup. If your already spending the big bucks on your setup whats another $100 on hardend pushrods. Cheap insurance. I would not recommend running stock pushrods. Once you decide on a cam and stick it in, get a pushrod length checker and see what length pushrod you'll need. Stock length I believe is 7.400".

The Gt2-3 cam will cost you $386 new only a few bucks cheaper than getting a custom cam ground unless you find one used.
You also might want to replace your lifters if they aren't in good shape. The LS7 lifter is a good replacement. Part number 12499225 for a set of 16 - about $121

I am going to try to do some research over the weekend about which cam to go with.
Defenly going to replace lifters and push rods and you said!
Some recommends the Comp Trunions but I have read a few threads with terrible results so I am going to pass on that!

Well I attempted to do some research on a Cam, instead ended up scoring a stock Complete L92 UIM Manifold minus the injecters for $180.
if I can't find anything for on a GT Cam, just bite the bullet swap in a LS9 Cam. Once I find a F/I source if I deem it necessary a custom ground cam will be on order!

Believe or not as well all know I <3 Black! But for some reason purple and gold were jumping at me.
I will paint the tranny purple like Allison transmissions lol
Think since I need a crank pulley I should upgrade UD pullies or not necessary?

After dealing with a severe oil leak on a black engine, I think gold is a far better choice. I'm going to be painting my engine before I stick it back in but will probably go with a more traditional Chevy orange.

I was offered the choice of black or orange. I chose black so that it would not show that it was dirty. I was right: nothing shows, not even the oil leaks...

If the stock pushrods are 7.4", then I owuld get the checker that measures the range from 6.8" to 7.8".
Pushrods

From that link
L92 Pushrod
$18.41Part Number: 10238852
Brand: GM Factory Replacement Parts
$18.41
This is a pushrod for the new 2007 L92 engine. The L92 is a new
make up of the Gen III engines, the LS series engines. All
pushrods for the L92 are the same size, but the camshaft lobe for
each cylinder differs on whether it is an Alternate Fuel Management
cylinder.
