Pete's around, I met up with him a little bit ago. I got to see the yellow 8.1 liter YukonXK beast of his. Its in great shape. I got to meet Pete and 2 of his buds for coffee at a local truckstop.
Bunch of good guys, its good to see guys who have known each other for a long time, and have been seperated by some distance, still getting together for guys/friend activities.
Hey Pete, if you are around give a shout out.
peace

Makoi! Good to hear from you.
I've transitioned rather abruptly in to a single parent home. I've been here off and on since I was a teenager. I'm staring down the barrel of 40 now.
I'm still at the same dealer, looking at nearly twenty years now. I have an '04 Silverado and an '04 Z06. I dd a '00 accord.
Life has taken a toll on me. I'm exhausted too much of the time. I've become that guy that waxes his car but never drives it and has an immaculate lawn. I like fishing but I suck at it.
I mostly diagnose cars and train new techs but don't do much wrench turning anymore. I enjoy it, but its incredibly stressful. I don't feel that I get enough time to be a good dad, but my son is doing an amazing job of everything since my wife had to leave. He spends almost twelve hours a day at school, which is necessary because of my work schedule and my commute. Being a full time single parent is never what I envisioned, and I worry a lot about making sure he becomes a well rounded person and does better than me.

Saturnstyl, kudos to you for doing the hard thing and being a consistent force in your son's life. Having kids at home is busy and stressful, but I can tell you from experience that it ends eventually and then you are wondering what to do with yourself again. I think one of the hardest things to do in life is just showing up every day and being a good dad, husband, employee, or whatever it is that you are called to do. It's not sexy, but life goes on and things will get better over time. Hang in there! Dave

Where have you gone? The thread seems to be empty. I assume you moved to a new thread. I will have to check the forum properly to see when you all added the latest posts. I am from the US, but currently, work in Nigeria. I like it here, population Nigeria is big, but I still miss my old friends from this forum. I will try to find them all and reconnect shortly. See you soon.
