Post L31 Frame To Engine Ground Strap At Back Of Block
I feel stupid for asking this because I used to have this memorized....

We all know that one stud on the passenger side of the back of the block which has several things attached to it: the black bracket which goes up to the top of the engine and holds a loom full of wires, a ground wire for said harness, another nut attached, and finally that large braided wire ground strap which goes down and connects to the frame. The problem is, I don't recall what the order of all this is going back together after doing LIM gaskets. Specifically, where does the braided ground strap go in all this? Is it between the hex base portion of the stud and the block or does it go on top of the hex base? If so, is it between the black bracket and the hex base or is it after the black bracket? I know the ground wire for the harness goes on last and is held on by a secondary nut at the end of the stud, but I cannot for the life of me recall the order of all this other stuff. Anyone remember?

Laughing I always hated that bracket! I did eventually cut it off in the Tahoe and was so glad I did every time I worked in the intake.

Order is: bracket on head, stud through bracket into head, ground strap on stud, nut on stud.
