Post Do we have the right to own guns?
Attorney General Holder says, "WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO POSSESS GUNS."
TAKES 10 SECONDS ... DO IT AND PASS IT ON.
Guess they were not happy with the poll results the first time, so USA today is running another one...Vote now...
Attorney General Eric Holder has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. Then pass the link on to all the pro-gun folks you know. Hopefully the results will be published later this month.
Here's what you need to do:
First - vote.
Second- Send it to other folks,
then we will see if the results get published.
Click to vote:

Do we have the right to posses guns?

Corrected to add link. How embarrassing for me.

If they take the guns away, it won't take long to have a dictatorship. Especially with the person in office now. He seems to break all kinds of laws in the constitution.

Actually, you want open carry. If you don't have open carry, and you are carrying your pistol under your shirt, and you raise your arm for some reason, and the shirt goes high enough that someone can see your pistol, you can be dinged for not concealing your weapon. Stupid, I know, but apparently this is a hair that the freedom haters are splitting. If you are nailed for a weapons violation, you can lose your concealed carry license. With open carry, accidentally showing your concealed weapon eliminates this problem. Yes, it means that someone can walk around with one on their hip, but who's really gonna walk around with a 500+ dollar weapon exposed for the world to see?

We have open carry in Michigan, but some Cities cite the right to overrule our State Constitution under another clause that seems to allow local controls (i.e. speed limits, etc...) Some kid just got ticketed here in Birmingham under a City misdemeanor. He has an attorney that is standing up for him. It will probably be dropped, but it should prove interesting if it does go to trial. Have you noticed that the Media only goes all hype on gun "nuts", and never on Constitutional "rights"? The Liberals demand a flexible Constitution, bent their way. And now, the Supreme Court is showing that they are bought and paid for as well, not upholders of law, but merely interpretors of their own beliefs. I'm sure this has emboldened Eric Holder and the Socialists in the White House. This Country is going to split apart if we don't get back to our roots.

Some states have passed statutes that prevent arrest due to 'accidental' exposure. I would rather not open carry. To me it eliminates one tactical advantage.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I prefer not having my weapon exposed too. But at least in Oklahoma, you can get nailed for an accidental exposure.

When I lived in Laurel Mt, when it was legalized to carry a pistol in the open, an hispanic kid showed up with a pistol on his hip. Of course the cops were called. He was checked out, but was legal to carry it. He was then advised to be polite and not have it in the grocery store. At that time Billings was having an hispanic gang war. Especially ones that moved in from California trying to establish a drug trade. Its nice to be able to carry your gun, but there are some places you want to leave it in the truck. Like going to the Bank. I did not bring my guns accross the border. I sold all but one, yet I cannot have a semi automatic here. Even if its only a 22. Inorder for me to own a gun I have to take a test. I took that test at age 12 at hunters safety course. I have to take the test so I can get a small caliber rifle for varmite control.

i prefer not to open carry people look at you like your a nut. I have IWB holsters for both my 40 and my 380 and an ankle holster for the 380 I can really tuck that little guy away if needed. They asked for our passports at the border me my wife my brother and his wife where in the car and we are all registered concealed permit holders they first asked if we had any weapons then specifically asked if we had any handguns, mom and dad where in the other car and not permit holders and did not get asked that question. mom is kinda anti gun witch I cannot understand having been raised in an area where they are just plain an simple a way of life for survival. Grandpa took us on a hike out to his old homestead site out by blueridge and took his rifle, made me feel alot safer as we saw alot of bear scat and some pretty fresh. Grandpa is not a registered gun owner and thinks the whole canada laws are BS so he has to have somone else buy amo for him.

In his area you want to have a gun with you or carry bear spray, At least where I live we had one bear here either 4 or 5 years ago, a farmer shot it. Sad to hear it was shot, But unfortunately the fish and game here didn't want to catch it and move it to another area. Living in Red Lodge we got used to seeing the black bears in town in the fall. No body got hurt and not one bear was shot. It was like living in your own northern exposure. I never carried a gun hiking, relied on pepperspray. People don't understand living out in remote area's you need a gun for protection from wild life. You hope you never have to use it on one but you have a gun for your protection. I watched a program on TV, Up in Alaska out in a remote village a teacher was killed by wolves, people were supprised about that. Not me when an animal is hungry they will eat anything. In Canada on the east coast there was a girl killed by coyotes. Again dosen't suprise me. They got humanized. Because they were in a park and never been shot at they were not afraid of humans. Dad and I went calling coyotes, we called in a Montain Lion Scard the crap out of us when it screamed and we could not see it. But the Cat saw us. This was in Eastern Montana. When the wolves were put in Yellowstone park some left the park right away and was in the Red Lodge area. Some people in the area lost there dogs to the wolves. Of course Fish and game said the dogs attacked the wolves first. Now they are scattered all over the place. Getting into farms livestock, sheep and horses. Now it is legal to shoot them because they aren't in the park or near the park. I sure do believe in having guns to protect your property whether it is livestock or you pets. Our nieghbor is still fighting in the courst over shooting the thief in the butt with a shot gun. The idiot tried stealing their quad. The guys wounds were not as bad as my brother in law got when he was accidently shot in the face with a shot gun while hunting pheasants. There hasn't been any trouble out here since because the thief took off for Saskactewan. Never been to any of the trials.

I heard it was a COLLECTIVE right.

So what kind of right is a COLLECTIVE right?

- How many people have to be in a group for it to be called COLLECTIVE?
- Are two people, let's say husband and wife enough?
- Or does e.g. a law abiding church group has the right to COLLECTIVELY owe ONE gun?

Oh, they say it has to be militia, so can a churchgroup form a militia? What is the definition of a militia?
And who decides these how many it takes to be called a COLLECTIVE and a MILITIA anyway?

What kind a right is a right is a right that you don't have individually?
And why would anybody bother to write such right into constitution?

Unless it is really you right!!!

Have fun.

I have some skeet time scheduled for the 18th. Buddy just got an AR15 and he got the .22 conversion kit with it. We're most likely going to do some range time the same day also. The problem is my shoulder sometimes cusses at me after shooting skeet. Attempting to shoot 12g slugs after a few rounds of skeet hurt. Was being called a wuss Laughing Reminded me of another friends .44 magnum lever action rifle with no recoil pad. Now that hurt after three rounds. Ouch Surprised

I'm also going to take my HK P30 to the range. This is a 9mm with a Veridian laser on it. The laser's range is claimed to be over a mile! I'm just interested in seeing where the bullet will go at 100 yards. I'm not sure if the range will let me shoot a handgun from the rifle benches. What with the now popular hunting with scoped revolvers, I'm guessing that they will. At 100 yards, and the factory iron sights, with my AR15 9mm, I can put all rounds in a paper plate. LOL, it's probably a lot like sex, a few extra inches of barrel helps!
