I'm finally getting around to purchasing a NAS. It's time to consolidate the 3 desktops I'm essentially running as media servers right now. I've done some research and think this is the direction I'm headed http://www.synology.com/products/product.php?product_name=DS212&lang=enu What are y'all using?

I use a Q-nap ts-419p like it. It has 4 2tb hitatchi's in it.

My Toshiba laptop put up a Windows message last week that said the hard drive is about to fail. I was up north and went to radio shack and bought an external back up and backed it all up. I'm thinking of replacing the laptop hard drive with a solid state unit. Looking at the Seagate Momentus XT. Is that good? Worthwhile? $179.00

the momentus works awesome if you need that much space on a laptop...but a all out ssd is better...i had all 3 ..standard,hybrid, and ssd..the ssd reduced my heat,made my battery last long and was much faster. |
