Tractor beams are cool.

Scientists have developed a "cloaking device" to make objects appear invisible. In essence, the device "bends" light around the object beiong cloaked, so that the background behind the object is presented in front of the object. So far they can make objects the size of quarters appear invisible.

Neat. They've come up with a wearable cloak that makes you invisible, kinda. There's a shimmering waver where the wearer is.

The military's also got a new green laser rifle that can make an adjustable beam that can dazzle, temporarily blind or permanently blind an enemy. And, considering that they are letting us know about this, this means we likely have a laser that can bore a hole through someone. When they let us know about that, we'll have handheld phasers that will vaporize people.

I am SOOOOOO wasted tonight... the daughter wanted to BBQ, and I traditionally have a drink while BBQing... but I'm also on a diet because I'm a fatass, so the booze has UNtraditionally affected me...
