Post L31 AC Hose Assembly Leak - Permanent Fix?
99 Chevy Tahoe, L31 @ 130,000 miles...

It's been my experience with every L31 equipped truck I've seen that they all start to leak at the joint (red arrow) on the AC hose assembly. Replacing with a new GM assembly yields the same leak in a relatively short period of time, so I'm wondering has anyone come up with a fix for this leak which actually lasts?

I bought one from advance auto and three years now no leaks at all. maybe if you laid it over toward the passenger side it bent the hose there pretty badly and causes a weak spot?... like removing the intake gaskets, and laying it over out of the way temporarily

Have you recrimped the end? How about E-Z Clips?

Advance shows to stock the AC-Delco variety, so that's the same as I have alwasy used. Haven't been rough on the hose, so I don't think there has been any undue stress.

As far as re-crimping, I've not attempted that. With this set being the originals at 130,000 miles, I'm just going to replace them with new, but I was just curious if there was something better out there. Hrm
