The fact that it's a "2000", isn't that a problem?

I wouldnt want the 2000 engine, iron heads and inappropriate crank making it useful for 80e trans use only.

Resale of the iron heads is nil. Of course it can be made to work.

Heads don't matter bc I am swapping in AFR heads and cam. Saying the crank is garbage?

Are you gonna swap the whole unit to include the 80e?

I think Hog is saying it will be a challenge to mate a 60e to that particular 6.0 if that's what you had in mind.

Who knows, I maybe reading this all wrong.

Ok...called the guy. truck is missing bed and tailgate and side mirrors...less parts equals less money.

Says truck is driveable but cnt be turned b/c of accident.
I have been pricing out things...guess I won't be slapping on a S/C until my current one is sold. The Ms. also gave me an ultimatum. Her or the Blower...going to go with the blower just not now. I had have close to nill in my savings. Once I sell the my old motor, trans, s/c and hopefully get the install jobs from the buyer a blower will in grasp and some.

So I have been searching around...

I can't find the exact headers I need...I know Schenfeld makes them, which one's. I checked out summit thier prices are EXTREMELY reasonble compared to headmen! Should I just throw another weld on top of theirs? Reason why so cheap?

Also with me adding a boost later on....will running AFR heads and a z06 cam eff it up? Any other cams boost friendly that can help me achieve 500-600?

Also what Shift Kit and stalll should I go with? Any other mods you guys think I am missing?

I came across this right-up...seems helpful but kinda sucky bc it all reverts to buying parts from s&p

they swapped in a TBI™...how much does this apply to me?

Piston slap! That's the problem! Was fixed in later years, but when??

These are the ones I'm putting on my 6.0. I can't say how the fitament or clearance would be in a GMT400 body/frame though.

Any GMT 800 style headers will fit, no special swap headers?

Not all had it but it's a possibility.

But they said it is not a problem, will regular sea foam treatments keep the carbon from building up?

Will washing you feet regularly help you keep your 2 sizes too big shoes on??

I realize you are using aftermarket heads, my point was that the iron 6.0 heads have zero value compared to a set of aluminum stock aluminum heads. I'm speaking of recouping costs.

The crank is fine in running a 4l80e.

A set of ported stock casting would bring you the numbers you desire.

A set of bone stock L92's would bring you the numbers N/A for $800 for a set of heads, no blower needed.

IIRC GM started using the newer pistons with the coated skits in 2003. There were small improvements in the GEN 3 engines for almost every MY they were built.

EDIT I just checked, it was indeed MY 2003 when GM used the newer polymer coated pistons to try and combat piston slap.

Application of floating-pin pistons in the Vortec 6000 is accompanied by a changeover, begun in model year 2003, to re-profiled polymer-coated pistons. The polymer material allows tighter piston to cylinder-bore clearances without bore scuffing, extending the benefits of the floating-pin piston and rod assembly and reducing noise generated by the piston’s movement within the cylinder. The net result is a quieter engine.
peace

They will bolt up to the ls engine but will probably require modifications to fit. Seems like he will try them out and see what happens.

Bai78, let us know how they fit. For the price they are worth a shot. I believe calspeed on ls1tech has a set of inexpensive stainless long tubes for the 99-06 trucks too. They also just came out with a 1-7/8" primary set.

Will washing you feet regularly prevent you from loosing your shoes that are 2 sizes too big ??
