I'll post up some high-res close-ups when I can bring myself to eventually approach the thing

Any thoughts?
I sure hope you can do a bit better on the price. the rods cost more than most complete short blocks!.... but very nice

How would you keep from twisting the frame. The horse power and torque. Gives you goose bumps.

if you are looking at 6k in rods, why not add another 4 and get a world products merlin 632/800hp engine?
should be able to come up with an intake solution and hide its ginormous stature. lol

Well....
I don't want anything made in china. Sure their blocks are made here but they're stuffed full of Chinese parts.
Want to maintain 1-piece seal block for OEM EFI compatibility - including 24x ignition.
Maintaining OEM exhaust port locations is important because I want off-the shelf header options.
Needs to stay short-deck for Vortec manifold.
Keep in mind anything I put in there needs to be easily swapable back to near-stock or at least smoggable.

That sure looks like a nice intake. James, what parts are you talking about coming from China? That way I know for inthe future of what parts not to buy. I would rather support stuff built in the US and Canada, then overseas.

Eagle and Scat both. I am looking at a Callies crank now, they too have one product line that is chinese steel - "Compstar". They have other lines, including "Dragonslayer", that is domestic steel, forged, and machined.
Lunati quit making the one-piece seal BBC cranks. Don't know why...

Thanks, I will stay away from those places then. There are a lot of engines with those parts in them. Its like buying tools you get what you pay for.

That's a sweet intake. Love the fuel setup and the trick hinged valve covers.

Lunati may just be looking to the future, and decided to get out while the getting's good. I imagine they sold their big block crank making gear to someone while there are still big blocks on the road. In another 10-15 years big blocks are going to be pretty rare.

Yep, on the previous page these were discussed and are at the top of the list of candidates.
