Thinking about water injection on the diesel.

Post Thinking about water injection on the diesel.
Seems like devils own has the best looking injectors, i like that they tap into the intake from outside and not some re purped agriculture deal.. I really dont care TOO much about EGTs right now because I rarely can get over 1300 anyways. 1050 on stock program.
Mainly im taking apart the top end of the motor right now and scrubbing the carbon out from the EGR.. some think over time the water / meth will kinda dissolve the carbon build up. my PCV was rerouted like 90k ago so its just dust and left over oily residue at this point.

What do you guys think?

I know BG has an intake fogger for diesels.. runs at 6-8bar and pulses instead of floods like a gasser would ..to keep from the engine running away.
Thats my second option.

I removed the intake bridge.. what a joke... hardly any build up...I blew out the egr lower valve..flushing brake cleaner and dust back out to the exhaust.. pretty sure 250 psi water inj has to blow the rest out.. this is the cleanest duramax intake I've ever seen... at 155k.

Im sure it would help but all diesels have oil residue in the intakes even without egr Iv seen some nasty ford 7.3s where they wherent good about changing air filters.

I looked at dozens of VW TDI engines plugged solid, and few pix of duramax guys with nasty messes they took hours picking out. By comparison I had a light dusting of carbon, no oil no sludge.

I think I just got lucky and got a truck/motor built on a good day, I've not had one issue.. no matter how hard I pushed it or mileage. I'm turning just over 156k miles now.

I ordered a 250 PSI Recirculation Pump, 12gph nozzle and solenoid from devils own. We'll see how that runs. Removing the intake heater assembly definately helped with throttle response Smile
