Today I'll be making the payment on this....my new bike.
It's in LA at present.

Merry X-mas indeed! Very nice Howard.
Just one thing, don't leave home without leather...

Christmas eve here...but thought the bank would be open...turns out it's not.
Wouldn't believe it....as I'm walking down the street to the bank, I hear a familiar 'Harley' rumble.
Just as I get to the bank there's a guy getting off a black, 09 Vrod Muscle. Now THAT's weird!!!
It's the only one I've seen over here.
Had a chat with the guy....he reckon's they're an awesome bike.
Now even more eager!

I have an Arai helmet, and I like it a lot. I also have Dainese leathers. The Dainese stuff I ordered from a shop in England because the style I wanted wasn't available in the U.S. Really good stuff. It won't make you invincible, but it does make you feel a lot safer.

Bike's fast enough as is. Turbo is good to spread road kill on longer distance. Won't help spread longer legs.

Paid for!
Made the transaction yesterday. Seller emailed e today to let me know money had been received. Also sent me the filled out bill of sale.
This guy is great. Washed and dried the bike as per my request, prep'd it ready for pickup and delivery to the shipping warehouse.
I love CA emissions laws.
The guy moved from NV to CA and can't register the bike there or even sell it to a CA resident. Made it ALOT easier for me to get a good deal.
First thing I'll be doing is building a new stainless two into one exhaust system to make it 'sound' like a Harley!

Excellent point Pro. H, are the controls also reversed on a bike? In case you needed to do hand signal for example?

Lol! All controls are same.
To make the bike compliant...the following needs to be done:
Change Indicator lenses
Change brake pads (apparently you guys still use asbestos???).
Change brake lines??? no idea why
Change headlight lens
Change speedo for Kph version
Change tyres (yours say USA...mine need to say Australia)...geez...how ridiculous!
Move licence plate to under tail light.
All at a cost of $2800.00
Transport to the warehouse in LA...$150.00
Shipping to Oz $1000
GST (Gov sales tax) $1200
And a few extras......all up around $6000.
AND I still save around $10K on buying one here!

Does all that have to be done before they will even export it? I saw an old military bike that had a left hand throttle so you could carry a machine gun now thatd be cool lol

That all has to be done here by a registered workshop.
Good thing is I get to keep the parts....so the lic plate will be going back where it is from factory (beside the wheel) and I'll have a second set of tyres.
That left hand throttle thing sounds cool....but difficult to use.
