Can You Believe

Post by 98Blackss »

SO I was bidding on Ebay for some 2000 Tahoe limited seats to replace the 60/40 bench in my truck. The limiteds are a standard tahoe bucket seat done in two tone gray leather and are power and heated. This particular set had 65K miles on them. Needless to say I was out bid... Get this the wining bid $1,225.00 plus $100 in shipping for the driver and passenger seats only. No back seat, no console, just the seats.

Unless my understanding on the cost of parts, I think I can go to my GM dealer and buy new Tahoe Limited Leathers and put them on some tahoe bucket seats for a whole lot less???

Yeah, or get a Katzkins leather kit, even that might be cheaper.

More than likely it will be better leather with the Katskins, the GM are leather only on the seating surface, Really cheap all over. You might sheck into having a set made at the upholstery shops in your area also. I had mine done in the 98 with more bolstering & custom stiching for less than that & he covered my console also.

Always amazed by ebay. I can't believe people actually get in bidding wars on that site because they have to "win" the auction. If there's competition for an item, losing is winning. I often start auctions at a very low price without a reserve to encourage this behavior...bit of a gamble though, as you can get screwed too.

...and depending on the item, there is always another day, with a similar item.

Im after the 2000 Tahoe (GMT400). The Limiteds and Z71's got the two tone seats. Some have heat and some are just power. I have found another heated set in Seattle, but the guy wont disassemble them so they can be shipped. He wants to crate them...

I know there are some OTR truckers on here, by chance any one East bound from Seattle?

I'm considering Howard's method of buying a plane ticket and bringing them back...

I don't know what shipping costs are now, but 3 years ago when I had my Caddy seats shipped to me shipping was 200 bucks. The seats were not disassembled, and were on a pallet. Was worth it to me, and those seats saved my hiney in my wreck. From the looks of the floorboard after the wreck, I could likely have survived any accident that didn't push the front end into me.

I'm in the same boat as you, I can't see bidding insane amounts on those things, but don't just want to recover the seats as it seems the tahoe seats have better bolstering than the 60/40 cloth.

I'll take it for $50, but only if it has a full tank of gas.

Hey that has the seats I want!!! I found another set of seats at recycle yard in WA. The place wants $200 to build a wooden crate and another $300 to ship... I'm thinkin Southwest flies there from Denver...

Perhaps parting it out will be the way forward. I need... ummm, nothing out of it, but maybe someone will. Sounds like you might have the seats and the gas tank sold.
