12200411 L31 4L60E real 4X4 .tun file. 4LO WORKS!!!!!!!!!

Post by s10mods »

I finnally got a file to work again, I had to take a 2002 ZR2 s10 file have it flashed with a tech II then read it with EFI live and copy the engine and fuel segments from the van file and I just tested it and it works. I have my 1998 1/2ton pushbutton 4x4 4l60E truck shifting in 4lo normally. I did make sure that C@ pin 16 gets ground when in 4 lo and this file works. I posted it on EFILIve, I wonder if I can read it wiht TC for those that need it in TC format, if there is a need let me know and I will try it.
here is the link to EFILive. I knew I could figure it out.

I wonder what the difference is?
Jeff....did you get the email I sent yesterday....showing the multiple 4lo items in the tune we DON'T see in our tuning software?

s10mods, good job. Glad to see the wrinkles getting worked out of the various 411 swaps.

I believe that the 4wd part of the calibration is in the system segment of the file, I did multiple trans segment swaps with no luck, then I tried a 2002 5.3 truck file and just changed the engine segments and my truck wouldnt start. when I swapped the system segment then it would start. I figured the s10 had a the same type engine just 2 cyl short and that's what I used last time, so that's what I started with. I remember having it working a while ago, but I lost the file when I formated my lap top. I had to swap the fuel system segment from the van to the s10 because the fuel gauge didnt work. my only concern is that if this file is using the s10 system part of the cal if there is any difference in the AC system pinout. I will look at some wiring diagrams later when I get home to find out if it is different or not, unless someone that has AC working can try this file and step in and say if it works or not?

GREAT NEWS! thans S10!! and to all the Guys that Put their effort in to this!
the news is that Im now back in phoenix :) and Will be back at home in 2 weeks, cant Wait to upload the Tune...
Question.. since I got the OS speeddensity tune 02020003, can I Do like a transegment swap and Upload it, since I Like my SD tune?
Or do I have to start with this new OS?

hmm, so S10mods, you believe that the 4lo info is in the system segment? I am currently insalling a 4l80 and did the trans segment swap for that. Need to stick with the trans segment. I guess I'll try just swapping the system segment once I've got the truck runnin.

good job man.

Welll...
Just for the hell of it I reflashed (full flash) the tune posted by Joe and still I don't get a ground when testing C216 when 4LO is selected.
I'll look into it further

Joe...does the truck need to be running to get the ground signal at C2 16?
I loaded your posted tune, I turn the ignition on and put the Burb in N...push the 4LO button. The light comes on and I hear it engage.
I then test the C2 16 pin to the pos battery terminal and nothing?

OK...well...further testing.
I just reflashed that tune of Joe's into my PCM.
I get the ground signal when in 4LO so that's good (suspect I had it all along but wasn't getting good contact at the pin for testing..this time I pierced the C2 16 wire with a needle).
Now I'm wondering if doing the full segment swaps on the trans was the problem. Maybe I need to go through and swap file by file.

Howard, Try doing only a trans segment swap on the file, dont do a system segment swap at first, because I do think the 4 lo is something in the system part of the file. Just doing a trans segment swap to the van file didn't make the 4 lo work on my truck. I also tried to swap the engine segment from the van file to a 2002 GEN3 file, but then my truck wouldnt start, so it needs the system part of the file from the S10 since the s10 has the 4x4 option and the van doesn't. I believe that just a trans segment swap from a 4L80E 12212156 OS to the file I posted should work for a 4L80E. let me know if does.

Yeah...only problem Joe is I'm running OLSD with a custom op system.
I might try and put it all back together as the stock 12212156 op system and see if I can get it to work with the 80E.
Atleast then I will know it's in the custom op system and not the wiring.
I do get the neg signal on C2 16 when in 4LO.
I've emailed Paul/Ross at EFIlive to see if they can compare your tune and my COS3 tune for differences/answers.

yes howard Im wondering the same thing here, since I Got the Cos3 Speed density tune, and I want to keep that, and just do a Trans swap from the 4l0 working tune that s10 post...wonder if its going to work or not.
