This irritates me. I've always had hopes of moving home. I can't have firearms. I can't have a fast truck without a cat. (diesel) The landscape is all I get and they'd be happy if I drove a prius. I still run around without the kitty and haven't had any issues in CA yet. But I'm not sure what would ...

Was going to suggest uship. It's alot of guys either hot shots or guys with insurance but they'll get it there any way they can (back of truck, box truck, trailer - whatever) all those mail box etc type stores ( now UPS store ) will ship any ways needed, but you'll pay for it - not doing it yourself...

as far as ram air.. No anything over 35-40mph and you don't need a fan. Lol proof? Duramax hasn't had a fan on it for 2 mos. Good in Oregon 30s-60s. Still good in AZ now 80s. Even idling I don't get hot. *shrug* is the 60% deal from one of the stand alone controllers? If memory serves.. I think the ...

So I'm back in Arizona. Drove with a 5th wheel from Portland to Phoenix. NO FAN. Never once got too hot. Although unhitched I'm getting 26mpg .. How I have no idea. . Must be the "dry"

Summers coming, so I gotta get to measuring soon on those electric fans!

I'll go look in a bit. But from everything I've gathered on the forums..it's a G80. They don't take very often not sure if it's just the size or what. 4wheel parts said the ring and carrier weigh near 100lbs lol..

Yeah, midway through this thread I remembered the G80 only locks under 15mph. ( worthless for me ) Plus I don't like how long it takes TO lock. Truetrac seems like the only answer for the AAM 11.5" aside from an ARB air locker. I don't think that's a good fit for me because I'm not crawling. Everyth...

I swapped in a napa rebuilt. tolerances were good to start, not sure about now.. This trucks so heavy it's hard for anything steering related to survive. I'd heard the Autozone/Oreilly etc ones you may need to go through 2-3 to find a good one though. If you can find a good one at napa or something,...

replacing a carrier.. I'd imagine requires starting over with the shimming process right..Not remotely just bolt in?

Do G80's create slop over time? I've got like 1/2" of play in the rear end. Have for some time... I know I'm not alone, had this on the 1500 and friends F350 is way, way worse.

Has anyone rebuilt a G80?

They seem to be strong enough in the 11.5" version... No exploding parts yet.. Not sure if the clutches are shot or not. I seem to have one wheel power most the time. I jacked up one side while parked and let it free spin and after about 3 seconds of freespin it locked and sent me right off the jack...

Red squeeks black don't. You can use their lube or marine grade grease. I installed my Black Energy bushings top and bottom ( pain in the ass without a real press ) I think around April. I had a squeek because the moron at the alignment shop ( pep boys ) didn't tighten up the upper cam bolts. After ...

Yeah.. Think I'll go back the the euro. Only experience with Quaker I've had was a leaking rear main right after changing (not my choice, shop did it.) was always Valvoline.. Had heard people say Quaker and Penz were high in parafins and that caused sludge. (possibly not true anymore) Yeah, fram. we...

tried royal purple oil filter vs mobil1..

Very surprised. Always used m1 very very little soot caught in centrifuge. Tried rp filter and it caught significantly more. While both filters were tested back to back. Both during winter time. Ruling fuel out.. I would have assumed based on the spot on TV about their development this was m1 qualit...

I'll measure mine friday when I have time. There is no way I didn't pick up 30hp.. Didn't make much of a difference on my 4.8L but on this rig.. its very very obvious. I can peel out accelerating down the freeway @ 65+.. stock tune. weird. I also tested things... stopped traffic = never went over 19...

I've never had a problem running power there. 01, 04 and 06 silverados.. and lots of other makes and models (did alot of 12v audio) as did/do friends.. Only thing I've really cared to re route was the RCA lines to the back, either down the tunnel or opposite side of the vehicle to get away from powe...
