I'm sure everyone knows this already, but just in case.....HDs are light duty trucks and are available with the discount.

This is a medium duty truck:

Congrats! Waypoint test vid was quite cool! Is it having to choose a course in that video, or just trying to get itself pointed toward the next waypoint in that video?

Don't you mean "GM continues to wreck resale value of itsproducts"? I'm glad I REALLY like my current truck, because I'd take a bath if I tried to sell it for anything but another super-discounted GM vehicle. I hope this is the first step in their recovery, but it sounds more like "continued headlon...

Rotors are supposed to last at least 300.000km I think. They are realistically going to last the life of the car unless something unusual happens. Its not a car built to prove they can, its done for trickle down technology. When they get processes like carbon fiber manufacturing down pat, it can be...

I think the fuel economy calculation they were doing with the computer was measuing the mass of air entering the engine with the MAF, knowing that the engine was running at stoich (closed loop) and then calculating the fuel consumption using that. Still doesn't account for their inconsistent testin...

Myth Busted: "Mythbusters" are morons.

You physics types ought to love this... Just saw a test on MythBusters where they investigated what the most fuel efficient scenario was of either driving with windows up and A/C on or windows down and A/C off I'd actually heard about this before from a friend, but now that I've seen it for myself I...

Being an airport MP vehicle, it might have 10,000 hours of idle time on the motor.

The general words of advise on this are that 285/75R16s will fit without a body lift and without cranking the torsion bars. I have yet to personally do this but I hope to in the future (285/70R17s in my case). I've seen people report successfully running 305/70R16s and 315/75R16s on stock wheels wit...

I'd be curious to see how an '03+ 1/2 ton fares....Chevy did something to the frame in 03 given that the RBM went from something like 98,000 lb/in to something like 135,000. While the '01 (or whatever it was) F-150 ext cab does very poorly, the 04s do quite well. As I understood it only the ext cab ...

OMG, I want one. I don't care if it has a Prism traverse 3 cyl in it. Not far off :) I want to say those Nomads are on the "Kappa" platform which is the small rear drive one used by the Pontiac Solstice which uses a 177hp I4. Looks like a PT Cruiser killer to me, though of course the PT Cruiser is ...

The best method is to place the entire couch in a reasonable-sized swimming pool, along with a full box of powdered tide. Let sit over night. Take care to ensure that you do not own the pool.

Drove a CTS for a day

Paid the $30 upgrade to get one of these as a rental car while local dealer line-x'ed my bed. Not a bad car. Interior a bit plasticky, something I'm fine with in a truck, but not so hot about in a sports-sedan. Pretty much liked everything about this car less the cheap interior materials. It had the...

Wow, thanks much for the info! I'll pass it along to my brother. Went down to the local MB dealer tonight and looked at them with him this evening. The E500 is going to cost $12k more than a comparably equipped to the M45. In every objective comparison, i.e., performance and features, the M45 is the...

My GF wants to purchase a '06 cls500 and I wanted your input on this car. Also, do you think this can be purchase for less than MSRP? We live in So. Cal and there are MBZ dealers all over, but I heard these things are selling with a premium $5k above MSRP. Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advanc...

Mercedes question for saturnstyl...

Would you happen to know when MB is planning on upping the horsepower of the 5.0L NA V8, i.e., that which comes in the E500?

Family member is considering one when a lease runs out, though he'll probably wind up in an Infiniti M45 instead.

We are too talking about an air spring! :D Here's an example of an air spring with a linkage layout nearly identical to a connecting rod + crankshaft (only look at the BLACK link....the rest of the frame is irrelevant): http://www.specialized.com/OA_MEDIA/2005/bikes/05EnduroSXFrame_d.jpg http://www....
