If my truck was stolen/totaled today, I'd probably go buy another one.

There are more GMT800s on the road today than just about anything else. I think parts availability would be good even if GM was liquidated tomorrow.

Well, this post is exactly two months late.

j/k and congrats though, post pics.

In my family we've had eight GMT800s (I still drive one), and not one has had 1/10 of the problems your first one did.

My favorite is Apple. They really do just work.

For PC's I tend to go Dell, for better or for worse. Key thing on a laptop that takes abuse is to get a three year warranty. They tend to be cost effective.

Personally think the whole state of MS PC's is just plain sad. The average user runs around using IE6/7/8 running as ADMINISTRATOR on their home computer. One bad piece of malware shows up and gets into the lowest levels of the system....and BOOSH... your computer is screwed. These people RELY on th...

I *hate* the OOOOBS/NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNBS stuff. And some people now use GMT 400 to mean GMT800 and GMT 800 to mean GMT900. The only problem with this is there is no clear set years for the trucks. I.E.- I have a friend who has a 96 2 door Tahoe, which is GMT 400. I have another friend who has a 99 Tah...

More than one fuse for it? Have seen that before with the exact same symptoms (on a Ford), thought we'd fried it because the clock worked and what we thought was the only fuse was good.

Set gas taxes to whatever is necessary for highway maintenance. And ONLY highway maintenance/transportation infrastructure. No money for schools, AIDS, cancer, or wacky art projects. Yes those other items are worthy of tax money (except the last)...just get it from the general fund. I don't want to ...

I believe you could get the VortecMax package in that configuration in 06+, maybe even 05. (1/2 ton 2wd crew cab extra-short bed).

This seems to confirm it, never actually seen one though.

No RCSB. Price is rather high, but I'm sure that will be VERY negotiable soon.

I don't know if I've posted this here or not before, but AV software is a last line of defense. It gets weaker every day as virus writers become more proficient at working around it. Fundamentally, the idea of having a list of known bad things and validating against them is flawed...I believe one da...

I can't recall how these really work, but guessing they're all 435-0 things where a congressmen gives a person/group in his constituency recognition for some achievement, such that it's "on the record" and you get a nice little certificate. I don't really know the process, but I'd guess these things...
