The lower control arms on 1, 3/4 & 1/2 tons will interchange but the uppers won't. The upper control arms on the 1 & 3/4 ton are wider and have a different angle. The 3/4 ton knuckles are ta ...

MigII got it right. Seal all of the screws holding the cowl on. I had the same problem in my Tahoe.

I had leak in the front of my Tahoe and it was the screws that hold the cowl panel in front of the windshield. I added sealant to each screw and the leaks stopped. I think Speeder came up with this ...

I am in Smyrna which isn't far from Kennesaw. How long will you be in town?

Bent, thanks for the Suburban page info.

I have the same leak in my Tahoe. I have replaced the hinges on the rear window and all of the weatherstripping. I have removed and resealed every bolt in the rear compartment. Keep us posted on wh ...
PostForum: GM Performance Forum   Posted: Tue Sep 02, 2008 3:10 pm   Subject: relationship between rear and front diffs (4x4)

All 6 lug trucks have the 8.25 front dif and all 8 lug trucks have the 9.25 front dif. I put a 9.25 front dif in my Tahoe. It wasn't too hard but did require some cutting and welding.
PostForum: GM Performance Forum   Posted: Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:06 am   Subject: front diff removal or axle removal.........

You can remove the front dif and run it with no problems but you must take the cv joints apart and re-install the outer shafts. The outer shafts hold the bearing together.

Do these mounts put the transmission in the stock location or does the trans mount have to be moved when they are used?

PostForum: GM Performance Forum   Posted: Sun Mar 09, 2008 5:57 pm   Subject: 99 Tahoe 80-E swap w/ lift?

I have 27 spline input shafts for a np 241, np 243, and np 246(autotrac) and they are all the same. You can order the 32 spline version for about $100 and swap it in less than an hour.

How about a ZL-402 from SLP? It's a $4,239 402 cid shortblock based on the 6.0.
PostForum: GM Performance Forum   Posted: Sat Nov 17, 2007 12:24 pm   Subject: 14 bolt and tailshaft?

The Precision part number is 447. Other companies make a similar u-joint but I don't know any other part numbers. You can probably Google more.
PostForum: GM Performance Forum   Posted: Thu Nov 15, 2007 2:59 pm   Subject: 14 bolt and tailshaft?

You can get a u-joint that is 3r(stock 1/2 ton) on one side and 1350(stock 3/4 ton) on the other so the stock driveshaft will work with the 14 bolt yoke.

That's a manufactured fiberglass kit that was installed on the Tahoe on TV show called Truck U on the Speed channel. It's different but I wouldn't do it to mine.

I don't think there is much difference. The ports look to be the same but the lower intake is steel insted of aluminum. It also has an egr block-off plate.

I think the best you can do is remove the front dif. and the cv shafts. I don't think you will be able to convert to a 2wd front suspension system. If you remove the cv shafts you must take them apa ...
