Sounds OK. VW diesels are supposed to be pretty good, but their gasoline engines are crap. If you decide to get one, don't even bother with the gasoline version. I don't know of a single person with a VW gasser built in the last 10 years that didn't have problems with whole quarts of oil disappeari...

Just picked up my trans Thursday night, Frank was VERY accommodating and managed to get my trans done 3 days early so I could take advantage of an opportunity to use someone else's company vehicle and company gas card to make the 250 mile round trip (twice!). You should be very happy with your trans...

Yeah, make sure you don't jack with the line pressure settings electronically (sp?) as he adjusts them mechanically and it's a sure fire way to destroy the trans.

It will require a reprogram of the computer to properly control it. You will need a front speed sensor added to the computer. There is a kit available for it. You will need a shortened driveshaft and a modified trans crossmember. Depending on your frame, you may be able to just slide the trans cros...

This site is VERY useful if for nothing but the diagrams

I came across this site while I was looking for some OEM L31 crank pulley/harmonic balancer bolts. I ended up ordering from them and their shipping was a bit on the high side, but I was VERY impressed with the quality and avalibility of diagrams they offered as well as listing the hardware cross com...

Need a few bolts for a project........

If anyone could spare them, I need the three bolts that secure the crank pulley to the balancer on an L31 motor. I am really shooting for factory bolts if at all possible, something where the heads are in good condition. I will post up pics of the project once completed. If you have them, let me kno...

They must have really changed their act. Last time I delt with them it took 3 tries before I got a header where the welds from the primaries to the flange wern't blown through and when they finally got me one that would suffice it didn't clear the floorpan of the F-body they were going on and they n...

So the signal that disengages the shiftlock solenoid comes from the brake light switch? Is there any way that the brake lights would work but the shiftlock solenoid would not disengage? Is it a direct connection from the brake light switch to the shiftlock solenoid or does it pass through the PCM fi...

GMT400 Shiftlock question

Few quick questions: In a GMT400, where is the shiftlock located (by shiftlock, I mean the assembly that prevents you from shifting the transmission out of park unless the brake pedal is depressed)? How is the assembly disengaged (electrically or mechanically)? If electrically, where does the signal...
