Re: Project - 2003 Dodge Dakota, working name Frankentrucken
RIP to my dad, who passed away in November, a few days after I made the last post. The engine was cancelled and his truck was sold. I was really looking forward to that project. In other news, I've been made an admin on this board, and will do my best to de-spam it. Send me a PM if you find a spamme...

Re: 92 v6 standard swapping 98 454 automatic
Welcome. Having both trucks is a positive here. On the steering column, can't help there. You will probably need to use the 1998 steering column and get creative with the trim. The problem is the shifting linkages are different between the 92 and 98. You can use a floor shifter for this, but a floor...

Re: ATTN: MAJOR LOGIN ISSUES
They did something this week. I was able to do the "forgot password" and get my account back on. Unfortunately it's still a spam sandwich around here.

Sadly, no. Covid killed minor stuff like this.

Re: Project - 2003 Dodge Dakota, working name Frankentrucken
For what it's worth, since the board has been acquired by Hormel since the software update, I'll post up an update in the hopes that a gearhead will see this before the board crashes into oblivion. So far, no luck in getting anything done on the truck itself. However, I still have hopes that I can f...

Re: The Random Thought Thread
So has anyone else noticed that since the server upgrade, we've become the global warehouse for Hormel?

Install an electric fan, 2008 Colorado
OK, my fan is working now. Sorry, no pictures, while it's working pretty well I'm kind of ashamed at the build quality. This is a work truck, so my only care is does it work, not how does it look and it looks horrible. Anyway, since the information is kind of scattered and hard to put together, I de...

Re: Fix a fan shroud
Yup, visited a salvage yard and cannibalized a TrailBlazer with the correct computer in it, so I now have a cache of E67 wires. The plugs are shot though, as they'd been in direct sunlight for who knows how long. Anyway, it ran great in the test run. When I direct connect the relay control to power ...

Massive secondaries and fuel injection
Probably nobody remembers this, but a long time ago I complained on this board about how with fuel injection, you no longer got the sound of the massive secondaries opening up on a 4 barrel carb, and how nice it would be if there was a way to run a pair of throttle bodies so that one would run for c...

Re: NEW SERVER FOR THE PPE GM PERFORMANCE FORUM!
Assuming this is the place to report problems with the new server. Even when I check the "remember me" box, I keep getting logged out. The old forum never logged me out, and other forums using the same software don't log me out. This one, if I close the window, I'm gone. Can this be corrected? Would...

Re: Who's got some Investment Ideas?
Bailed out of AAL at 20 and a bit. Was making me nervous, especially after the drop from the 15 I bought at to 9 after Buffet sold out.

I wasn't able to find the 3M stuff locally, but was able to find JB Weldit (JB) plastic bonder. Their plastic bonding stuff is probably fine for fixing cracks or attaching patches together but it's no good for filling holes as itself as it's way too runny going on. It also gets very hot while curing...

Install an electric fan, 2008 Colorado
The fan clutch on my 2008 Colorado went out, and I have a set of factory fans off a 2007 Silverado. I've cut one of the fans off the Silverado assembly, and it fits pretty nicely inside the fan hole on the Colorado fan shroud. But here I need some advice - What should I use to permanently attach the...

This sucks. I had worked up an agreement with a guy to redo my truck's suspension. After several months of being put off, he decided that he's getting out of the business and is going to build cars to sell instead of doing work for others. I'm not out any money, we only got as far as he looked at th...

I have three 15-19 Yukons in my work fleet and every one of them ate the torque converter. 6 speeds or 8 speeds? I understand now (more research) is that the trans fluid was the problem. It was absorbing water. The new stuff they recommend is a Mobil 1 trans fluid that's something like 10-12 bucks ...
