need advice= radio not working

I have a 92 full size. Started it up and the radio didn't work. It shows the time at 11:19 and doesn't change. If I pust the power button the display changes to 88.3 for the station. It will not change with the buttons or tuner. If I push scan the word "scan" lights up but the radio doesn't scan. Th...

Thanks, I will try and get a plug just to keep road dirt and water out of it. It is a shame that no new trucks are available with a 5 speed. I got an 09 f150 2 years ago and haven't had the heart to get rid of the chevy because I miss the 5 speed.

5 sp manual question

I was under my 92 K1500 yesterday checking fluid levels and noticed a plug of some type missing from the bottom of the clutch housing. It is located on bottom of the case where the clutch linkage goes into the bell housing. It is directly above the crossover pipe. My transmission filler plug (which ...

rear fender question

In 09 Chevy changed the rear fenders compared to the 08 year. I really didn't like them esp on an 8 foot bed so I bought a f150 (still kept my 92 chev). Anyway, I notice in most of the truck commercials the rear fenders are the 08 style. A salesperson told me (after I bought the ford) that either fe...

I have never been out any money, just a PITA. I really think that the fraud comes from the card companies themselves. My work card info doesn't come to my home so it can't be my mailperson. You hear about business loosing data and employee laptops being stolen on vacation etc. so I always wonder how...

credit card fraud

I found out that my credit card had fraudent charges on it. Online purchaes were made. The kicker was that the card number used was for my new card that was sent to replace the old expiring card. The old card hadn't expired yet so I hadn't even activated the new card yet. So the fraud didn't come fr...

Thanks for the thoughts. The pit idea sounds like it will work. The water under the house is any ground water that seeps in so it is clean water. I never had a problem in the 12 years I have been here but this past winter we had a tremendous amount of rain and record snowfall for Maryland. We had 8 ...

sump pump question

I installed a sump pump and french drain under my home. My lot is level so when I run the drain pipe to the curb I would want to bury the pipe below the freeze line but then would have to bring the end up to meet the curb. In wintter the end could freeze closed. Is there some type of pop up valve th...

I have had ATT for several years with no problems. I live on the east coast so we have good coverage. ATT has an international roaming plan, verizon does not. My daughter is studying in Barcelona so the ATT phone works but is 99 cents per minute. She has a pay as you go phone also for her local call...

Toyota's "win for Toyota" Memo

Our great congressmen are blasting Toyota's arrogance for bragging about convincing the NTSB to limit their recall and save Toyota a bundle. How many other companies that have paid lobbyist to sway Congressman to get them to vote in their favor?? I am sure many defense contractors based it little ol...

How about getting a handicapped grab bar and sawing it in half. One end would mount to the steel and the other could be fittted with an end cap that is used over a chair leg. The bars come in several lenghts so you could get the length you need and also come in white or stainless.

I was watching the snowboarders do the halfpipe and couldn't help notice how many of the athletes would adjust their Itouches before their runs. Considering the millions of people watching, Apple got some great free advertising!!! As a side note, there is no way I would go down the halfpipe with my ...

The IRS doesn't make the laws, only collect the taxes that congress passes. While they used some heavy handed tactics in the past they have toned it down over the years. be careful with Citi credit cards

I have citi cash back cards. There is a maximum cash/year that you can get back on each card so my wife and I each have an account. When we get the maximum rebate on one card we switch to the other. We began getting charges on the card we had not used for 4 months. Mostly small stuff ie free vitamin...
